The short version: your music stays yours, you must have the right to upload what you upload, and the service comes as it is.
What DAWVID is
A website that reads a music project (an Ableton Live, FL Studio or Studio One project, or MIDI exported from another DAW) and the song audio you give it, and makes a vertical video that you can adjust and export as an mp4. It is run by Garded LLC, a Delaware limited liability company, 150 Central Park S, New York, NY 10019, United States ("we"). Contact: thisdudestartedsomething@gmail.com.
Your project and your video
- What you upload stays yours. The video you export is yours to use anywhere.
- You give us only the permission needed to do the job: to store your files for up to 14 days, read them, and make your video from them.
- You must hold the rights to what you upload, or have permission to use it. That includes samples, vocals and any song you have remixed. You are responsible for where you post the video and for any rights that posting needs.
Using it fairly
- Do not upload anything unlawful, or anyone else's project without their permission.
- Do not try to open other people's songs, break the service, or load it by machine.
- We may refuse or remove an upload, or block access, to protect the service or other people.
Price
- Your first song is free. One project, with everything: the Studio, Remix, other sections and lengths, and its exports. Exports of the free song carry a small DAWVID mark. Working on that song again, or replacing its audio, stays free. Deleting it does not give another free song.
- After that DAWVID is a monthly plan, in US dollars: Starter at $9 a month (5 songs a month), Producer at $19 a month (20 songs a month) or Studio at $39 a month (unlimited songs). On every plan exports are without the mark (the mark becomes a switch). Taxes may be added at payment where they apply.
- What counts as a song. A song is one project that you drop and that becomes a video. Everything you then do with it is included and does not count again: every video, Remix take, section, length and export, replacing its audio, and opening it again for as long as it is kept. A project that could not be read does not count. Dropping the very same project file again in the same month does not count twice. Deleting a song does not give its place back.
- The count starts again each month on the day your plan renews. Songs you did not use do not carry over. "Unlimited" is for one person's or one studio's ordinary use; if an account starts an extraordinary number of songs in a month we may pause new songs and write to you.
- Changing plan. You can move between plans at any time from Manage plan. A higher plan starts at once and its larger number of songs applies to the month you are in; the payment provider charges the difference for the rest of the month. A lower plan applies to new songs from when the provider switches it. Songs you have already made stay as they are.
- It renews every month until you cancel. You are charged when you start and then once a month on the same day.
- Cancel any time from Manage plan on the Export sheet (it opens the payment provider's own page), or by writing to thisdudestartedsomething@gmail.com. The plan stays on until the month you paid for ends; nothing renews after that.
- Payment is taken by Stripe on its own page. DAWVID never receives your card number.
- The plan belongs to the person who paid. It works in the browser you paid in; your restore link turns it on in another browser of yours. Do not share the link.
- If a payment fails, the provider tries again; if it still fails the plan ends and your songs are treated as on the free plan.
- Refunds: see Refunds and cancelling.
Storage
Uploads and exports are deleted after 14 days, or sooner if you press Delete now. There is no backup. Download your mp4 when it is made.
As it is
DAWVID is provided as it is, without any promise that it will always be available, will read every project, or will be free of faults. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost files, lost work or lost income from using it.
